A squash floor changes one layer and one layer only. The base, the membrane, the shock pads and the interlocked pine framework are the ones RACEON builds under a badminton court; the timber laid over them is maple instead of African teak.
Why maple and not teak
They are different timbers for different rooms. African teak is what RACEON lays on a badminton court; maple is what goes into a squash court — pale, tight grained, and a completely different board from the one next door. Everything else about how it is fixed is identical: tongue and groove, blind-nailed through the tongue, straight onto the framework with no plywood underneath.

What a squash court floor includes
- The same base
- Prepared and sealed concrete substrate, 3–5 mm moisture-resistant membrane, and 20–21 mm button-type shock pads — identical to a badminton court.
- The same framework
- Chemically treated pine in both directions, interlocked at every crossing into one continuous framework.
- Maple flooring
- Maple in place of African teak: paler, tighter grained, laid tongue-and-groove directly onto the framework and blind-nailed through the tongue.
- Sanding & PU finish
- Industrial sanding and finish, then sealed under a water-based polyurethane court finish.

Squash court flooring questions
- What flooring is used for a squash court?
